Maintenance Planner – Snacks Production Plant

About the role

The Maintenance Planner will be based at PepsiCo's Prospection Plant Snacks in Durban. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, you will be responsible for maximising technical availability and asset reliability through effective maintenance planning and reliability initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Develop weekly provisional and confirmed maintenance plans aligned with production, quality, utilities and safety requirements.
• Lead weekly planning meetings following the PeMM standard agenda and attendees.
• Build and maintain a 12‑month maintenance master plan, including estimated times, craft allocation, spares, seasonal shutdowns and reactive forecasts.
• Ensure all labour, materials, contractor resources, permits and safety pre‑checks are defined and ready before job execution.
• Administer the CMMS master data, guaranteeing data integrity and accurate scheduling.
• Drive analytical problem‑solving and embed reliability engineering principles to reduce unplanned downtime and repeat failures.

Required profile

• Experience in maintenance planning within a manufacturing or production environment.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Ability to collaborate with production, quality, utilities and safety teams.
• Under the general direction of the Maintenance Manager.

Required skills

• Proficiency with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System).
• Maintenance planning and scheduling expertise.
• Knowledge of reliability engineering principles.
