Maintenance Millwright

About the role

We are a well‑established South African manufacturer of specialised engineered products for the electrical power industry. We are looking for a proactive, hands‑on Millwright to join our Maintenance Department and ensure the reliability and efficient operation of production equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Safely install and set up new machinery and equipment according to manufacturer specifications and engineering drawings.
• Execute preventive maintenance schedules and conduct routine inspections, lubrication, and part replacements.
• Diagnose, troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and PLC issues, including bearings, gears, motors and control systems.
• Utilise welding and fabrication skills to repair or modify machine components, ensuring safety and quality standards.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, work orders, parts inventory and equipment manuals.
• Generate reports on machine performance and maintenance history.
• Coordinate with maintenance and production teams to prioritise tasks and respond promptly to breakdowns.
• Identify safety hazards, promote a safety culture and suggest process improvements.

Required profile

• Millwright Trade Test (Red Seal) with at least 3 years of relevant maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Own transport and ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Strong problem‑solving ability, attention to detail and sense of urgency.
• Commitment to workplace safety and adherence to safety protocols.
