Maintenance Manager – DBN

About the role

The leading waste management firm in South Africa is looking for a tenacious Maintenance Manager to drive low equipment operating costs and high vehicle uptime across its landfill sites. You will ensure compliance with legal, SHEQ and maintenance policies while leading a diverse maintenance team.

Key responsibilities

• Manage fleet condition, availability and compliance with manufacturer specifications and company standards.
• Set, implement and control maintenance budgets, cost forecasts and financial performance.
• Liaise with suppliers on warranty claims, servicing, tyre budgets and equipment audits.
• Oversee equipment refurbishment, tyre management, container painting and safe disposal of waste bins and tanks.
• Prepare monthly cost and performance reports and present at maintenance meetings.

Required profile

• Grade 12 Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or Red Seal Diesel Motor Mechanic qualification.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience supervising or managing a workshop or fleet maintenance team.
• Proven ability to lead, motivate and manage people under pressure.
• Strong knowledge of SHEQ compliance and cost‑effective asset management.
