Maintenance Handyman – Agriculture Workshop (2 positions)

About the role

Rainbow Chicken is seeking two Maintenance Handymen to join its Agriculture Engineering workshop. The role involves maintaining and repairing poultry‑related machinery, civil infrastructure and residential facilities on the farm.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect, maintain and repair all agricultural machinery and equipment.
• Carry out mechanical fitment, boilermaking and welding tasks.
• Maintain water supply systems, plumbing and drainage for both farm and residential buildings.
• Perform electrical maintenance on machinery and buildings in line with SANS 0142 standards (advantage).
• Supervise and train Maintenance Assistants, ensuring tasks are completed and signed off.
• Participate in planning and execution of mechanical, electrical and civil projects.
• Conduct daily inspections to prevent breakdowns and respond to standby duties.

Required profile

• Technical Senior Certificate or equivalent (N3/N2).
• Valid driver’s licence – code 8 or 10.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in mechanical (70%) and civil environments.
• Previous experience in a poultry or agricultural setting is an advantage.
