M&A Integration / Carve-out Specialist

About the role

PwC is seeking a senior‑level specialist to lead integration and carve‑out projects within its Delivering Deal Value service. The role supports clients through the full M&A lifecycle, from pre‑deal assessments to post‑completion implementation, ensuring operational and value‑creation objectives are met.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct pre‑deal integration and separation complexity assessments.
• Compile financial and operational data for carve‑out businesses.
• Develop integration or separation strategies, including interim and target operating models and Day‑1/100‑day plans.
• Create value‑creation bridges that identify strategic, operational, tax and balance‑sheet levers.
• Design and execute functional work‑plans for acquisitions or divestments.
• Lead change‑management and communication initiatives.
• Provide programme‑management support, including status reporting, RAID registers and delivery monitoring.
• Perform integration/separation health checks.

Required profile

• 6‑8 years of experience in change, integration or business‑improvement projects.
• Professional qualification such as CA(SA), CIMA, MBA or equivalent.
• Hands‑on exposure to merger integrations and/or carve‑outs.
• Strong financial analysis capability and understanding of key business drivers.
• Proven ability to manage large change programmes and multi‑disciplinary stakeholder groups.
