Logistics Team Leader

About the role

Join a fast‑growing confectionery e‑tailer based in Fourways, Johannesburg. The Logistics Team Leader will oversee daily packing, delivery and inventory control to ensure timely, accurate distribution of cakes and ingredients while maintaining quality and safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, train, schedule and supervise packing and delivery staff, enforcing SOPs and safety rules.
• Supervise the packing table to guarantee correct packing, labelling, quality checks and hygiene compliance.
• Coordinate deliveries to shops and customers, obtaining proof of delivery such as signatures or photos.
• Receive and record stock, verify incoming ingredients against purchase orders or invoices, and update the inventory system.
• Perform or coordinate cycle counts, monthly reconciliations, investigate variances and report shrinkage.
• Manage approved supplier list, place orders within delegated limits and escalate high‑value orders for approval.
• Provide weekly inventory, wastage and delivery performance reports to Operations and the Owner.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 + years logistics or warehouse experience, preferably in the food or retail industry.
• Valid driver’s licence with a clean driving record.
• Strong attention to detail, integrity and proven supervisory ability.
• Ability to think on your feet and support a scaling business.

Required skills

• Experience with stock control systems and basic reconciliation.
• Good grasp of units of measure and inventory management principles.
