Logistics Manager – Manufacturing & Supply Chain

About the role

National Brands Limited is seeking a Logistics Manager to lead material planning, warehousing, and distribution for its Isando biscuit factory. You will ensure raw and packaging materials are available for production, manage finished‑goods logistics, and support continuous improvement across the supply chain.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the Material Requirements Planning (MRP) function, including purchasing call‑offs of raw and packaging material.
• Coordinate with Central Procurement to support strategic sourcing and maintain supplier relationships.
• Oversee warehousing and inventory management of raw, packaging, and finished goods, ensuring accurate stock levels through cycle counts and variance analysis.
• Create robust production schedules based on the weekly production plan to meet customer service targets while minimizing factory costs.
• Handle sourcing of indirect spend items such as MRO, general spend, and services.
• Ensure compliance with SHE, GMP, and Food Safety policies in receiving, warehousing, and factory operations.
• Develop and coach a team of six staff members through goal setting and performance management.
• Implement operational strategies, manage the operational budget, and drive profitability.

Required profile

• Proven experience in logistics, material planning, and inventory control within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of supplier performance management and strategic sourcing.
• Ability to develop production schedules that balance service levels and cost efficiency.
• Experience ensuring compliance with safety, GMP, and food‑safety standards.
• Leadership skills to empower and develop a small logistics team.
• Budget management capability and focus on profitability.
