Logistics Manager – International Position (Papua New Guinea)

About the role

The Logistics Manager will lead the transport and logistics operations for MH Solutions, ensuring safe, reliable and cost-effective movement of feed, fuel, finished goods and general cargo. The role is based in Durbanville, Cape Town and supports the company’s activities in Papua New Guinea.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the Transport Department, coordinating high-volume weekly movements using internal fleet and third-party contractors.
• Develop daily and weekly transport plans, match capacity to demand and monitor on-time collections and deliveries.
• Oversee journey management, route planning, ETD/ETA performance and resolve delays or operational disruptions.
• Maintain fleet status, utilisation, inspections, breakdowns and coordinate preventative maintenance with the workshop.
• Monitor GPS data, fuel consumption and transport expenditure, identifying cost-saving opportunities.
• Recruit, roster, train and motivate drivers, ensuring licences are valid and performance is managed.
• Enforce safety, fatigue and load-security procedures and ensure compliance with traffic legislation and regulatory standards.
• Plan and manage third-party transport contracts, monitor service delivery, safety and cost performance.
• Prepare KPI reports on transport movements, fleet availability, driver performance, fuel consumption and safety.
• Identify process improvements, support fleet replacement initiatives and liaise with suppliers on equipment requirements.

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification or relevant trade certification with ability to develop training manuals.
• Minimum 10 years of management experience in transport and logistics, including fleet and driver management.
• Proven experience in transport planning, operational performance monitoring and cost control.
• Strong leadership, communication and organisational skills with high attention to detail.
• Good command of English and willingness to learn the local language.
