Logistics Controller – Warehousing

About the role

The Logistics Controller – Warehousing will coordinate customer order fulfilment and all warehouse activities at the depot in South Africa. You will act as the single point of contact for stock movements, ensuring compliance with internal controls, statutory requirements and BAT’s best practices.

Key responsibilities

• Support daily warehouse operations including receiving, put‑away, picking, dispatch and stock handling.
• Verify warehouse documentation (GRNs, picking slips, dispatch notes) and ensure orders in SAP match customer requirements.
• Maintain accurate warehouse records, perform stock counts and report discrepancies.
• Ensure compliance with EHS, 5S, pest control, OHS Act and security protocols.
• Capture all stock movements in SAP (IM & WM modules) and reconcile physical vs. system stock.
• Assist with blocked stock, customer returns, obsolete inventory and resolve SAP IDOC/transaction issues.
• Support 3PL warehouse and transport activities, monitor service levels and cost‑saving initiatives.
• Prepare and submit regular operational reports.

Required profile

• Experience in warehouse operations and logistics coordination.
• Familiarity with SAP inventory and warehouse management modules.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work with compliance standards (SOX, local regulations).
• Ability to liaise with internal supply chain teams, customers and external service providers.
