Logistics Controller (Johannesburg)

About the role

The Logistics Controller will oversee end‑to‑end freight forwarding operations across air, ocean, road and warehouse shipments. The role ensures compliance with South African statutes, accurate Transport Management System (TMS) data, and timely financial management while delivering superior service to clients.

Key responsibilities

• Liaise daily with customers, provide on‑time estimates and status reports, and guide them on legal and documentation requirements.
• Manage Ocean, Air, Road and Warehouse shipments, open shipment files in the TMS, and supervise container stuffing, crating and destuffing.
• Prepare and submit customs entries, certificates of origin, EUR1s, SADC documents and other required paperwork.
• Coordinate with subcontractors, negotiate rates, maintain accurate records and ensure timely invoicing per transport mode.
• Accurately record sales and cost accruals, and ensure all financial entries are completed on schedule.

Required profile

• Valid South African motor vehicle licence and citizenship.
• Strong organisational abilities with high attention to detail.
• Customer‑service orientation and ability to make decisions regarding shipments.
