Logistics Co-ordinator (Maternity Cover)

About the role

The Parts Team in Johannesburg is seeking an experienced Logistics Co-ordinator to provide maternity cover. You will support the African market by managing spare‑parts logistics from South Africa to distributors, ensuring smooth invoicing, shipping and compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Process daily invoicing and shipping instructions according to customer requirements and shipping rules.
• Verify freight and related costs on all invoices for accuracy.
• Manage aging stock at the AMS Warehouse.
• Liaise with freight forwarders and logistics agents to guarantee timely deliveries to distributors.
• Monitor shipment status and keep the Procurement Team updated.
• Maintain required documentation on the local drive and ensure compliance.
• Analyse monthly reports, highlighting sales and lead‑time variances.
• Produce logistics reports (sales, lead times, loading schedules) within set deadlines.
• Upload distributor export documents to the AMS portal (AWB/RCN within 1 day, BL within 3 days).
• Complete monthly freight forwarder provisions, payment requisitions and billing within one day of dispatch confirmation; create foreign export contracts in the TMS.
• Ensure all Letter of Credit requirements are met without risk of non‑payment.
• Quarterly review of target lead times and shipping rules, agreeing new targets with distributors.
• Confirm receipt of invoiced goods at AMS.

Required profile

• Proven experience in logistics coordination, preferably within spare‑parts or distribution environments.
• Strong understanding of shipping documentation, freight forwarding and export compliance.
• Ability to manage stock, analyse reports and communicate effectively with internal teams and external partners.
