Logistics Accountant – Supply Chain Finance

About the role

Unilever is looking for a motivated Logistics Accountant to join the Supply Chain Finance team. The role focuses on financial management of inventory, business waste and supply chain indirect costs, ensuring accurate reporting and providing insights for decision‑making.

Key responsibilities

• Own month‑end accounting and reporting for logistics costs, including warehousing, transport, distribution and handling.
• Prepare and post journals, accruals, provisions, re‑classifications and settlement corrections with proper documentation.
• Reconcile logistics‑related GL and balance‑sheet accounts, investigate variances and clear reconciling items.
• Validate actual costs against contracts, purchase orders, service entries and operational volumes.
• Lead logistics budgeting, forecasting and latest‑estimate processes with finance and operational stakeholders.
• Analyse actuals versus budget, forecast and prior year, breaking down drivers such as rate, volume, mix, fuel and route.
• Develop and monitor logistics cost and productivity metrics, linking financial outcomes to operational performance.
• Identify cost pressures and opportunities early and recommend mitigating actions.

Required profile

• Strong analytical mindset with attention to detail.
• Experience in finance or accounting, preferably within supply chain or logistics.
• Ability to produce clear month‑end performance narratives and support business decisions.
• Good communication skills to collaborate with cross‑functional teams.
