Litigation Associate – Pretoria

About the role

A well‑established legal services provider in Pretoria is seeking a motivated Litigation Associate to deliver practical legal advice, dispute resolution and client‑focused service. The role involves supporting policy holders through consultations, mediation, drafting and advisory work, ensuring matters are resolved efficiently and amicably.

Key responsibilities

• Take comprehensive instructions from policy holders via face‑to‑face, telephone or written communication and provide immediate basic legal advice.
• Draft warning letters, settlement agreements, mediation documents and other correspondence for policy holders and third parties.
• Prepare regular progress reports and feedback for policy holders, at least twice a month.
• Interpret and apply legal principles to the facts of each case, delivering written or verbal legal opinions.
• Research current legislation and legal precedents relevant to each matter.
• Assess the merits of cases to determine eligibility for litigation cover and advise accordingly.

Required profile

• LLB degree; admission as an attorney or advocate is advantageous.
• Minimum 2 years post‑articles civil litigation experience.
• Fluency in two official South African languages, including Afrikaans.
• Demonstrated honesty, integrity and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
