Literacy Resource Teacher – Non‑Formal Education

About the role

The Ministry of Education and Training is seeking a qualified Literacy Resource Teacher to support non‑formal education initiatives in Quthing district. Working under the supervision of the Non‑Formal Education Trainer, you will coordinate learner support services and promote literacy programmes across rural communities.

Key responsibilities

• Organise public gatherings to raise awareness of non‑formal education.
• Facilitate collaboration between local programme agents, tutors, and invigilators.
• Assess training needs of continuing education and literacy facilitators.
• Manage registration, testing, and examination processes.
• Dispatch learning materials to remote learning posts.
• Deliver orientation sessions and face‑to‑face workshops.
• Conduct regular visits to learning sites to monitor progress.
• Provide guidance and counselling to learners.
• Attend conferences and seminars on non‑formal education development.
• Prepare and submit progress reports to the Coordinator/Student Advisor.
• Perform any additional duties assigned by the supervisor.

Required profile

• Diploma in Education (Primary) or equivalent qualification.
• Ability to communicate effectively with rural communities.
• Willingness to travel and stay for extended periods in remote areas of Lesotho.
• Strong organisational and reporting skills.
