Legal Specialist – Fixed Term (12 months)

About the role

Hollard Insure Division is seeking a Legal Specialist on a 12‑month fixed‑term contract. The role focuses on managing complex claims, recoveries and litigation processes while ensuring commercial soundness and high‑quality customer experience.

Key responsibilities

• Process recovery claims efficiently and conduct viability and cost‑benefit assessments.
• Interpret policy wording accurately to support claim decisions.
• Assess when litigation is appropriate, draft legal documentation such as summons, and manage external attorneys and legal partners.
• Maintain data integrity, financial accuracy, and track claims performance and turnaround times.
• Ensure adherence to standard operating procedures and compliance standards.
• Deliver strong customer service, manage queries, resolve complaints and build stakeholder relationships.
• Identify process‑improvement opportunities and contribute to best‑practice sharing.

Required profile

• Strong legal expertise with experience in claims, recoveries and litigation.
• Commercial thinking and disciplined execution.
• Ability to interpret insurance policy wording and assess cost‑benefit outcomes.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and customer‑service orientation.
