Legal Operations Analyst

About the role

Ekco is looking for a Legal Operations Analyst to create a single source of truth for all customer contracts. You will design the contract data model, migrate existing contracts into a central repository and use AI‑assisted review to surface key commitments such as renewal dates, liability caps and data‑sovereignty terms. The role will evolve into a broader in‑house legal generalist covering contracts, compliance and M&A support.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement a structured contract data model and central repository.
• Use AI tools to extract and surface critical contract terms (renewals, notice periods, security obligations, etc.).
• Build and maintain records of processing activities, data‑mapping and AI‑enabled legal workflows.
• Improve contract execution processes to make them faster and more reliable.
• Support broader legal functions including supplier contracts, employment matters, international expansion and M&A.

Required profile

• LLB or equivalent law degree.
• 2–6 years of experience in private practice, in‑house legal, legal operations, contract management or compliance/privacy.
• Hands‑on experience drafting, negotiating, reviewing or abstracting commercial contracts.
• Strong technical confidence with data, spreadsheets and new platforms.
• Practical experience using AI tools and the judgement to verify their output.
• Interest in data protection with working knowledge of GDPR and POPIA.
• Ability to explain contractual positions to non‑lawyers.
• Comfortable working European business hours alongside colleagues in multiple countries.

Required skills

• Advanced spreadsheet and data‑analysis skills.
• Experience with AI‑assisted review tools.
• Familiarity with contract lifecycle management platforms.
