Legal Editor - AI Content Updating

About the role

As a Legal Editor focusing on AI-driven content updating, you will lead the commissioning, development and continuous evolution of authoritative legal material across print and digital platforms. Working closely with expert legal authors and AI‑enabled tools, you will ensure that content remains current, accurate and commercially relevant for a global customer base.

Key responsibilities

• Commission and manage legal content portfolios across digital and print platforms, ensuring quality, timeliness and alignment with strategic and commercial priorities, leveraging AI‑enabled lifecycle management.
• Recruit, onboard and manage external authors and reviewers, setting expectations on scope, style, delivery cadence and promoting adoption of AI‑supported drafting and review models.
• Own the end‑to‑end commissioning lifecycle, including business case development, budgets, contracts, schedules, quality standards and delivery of commercial and operational benefits.
• Plan and prioritize content development and updates by tracking legislative, regulatory and case‑law developments using AI‑enabled horizon‑scanning tools.
• Provide substantive editorial oversight of commissioned content, applying AI‑supported updating, and establishing standards to ensure legal accuracy, clarity, consistency and usability.
• Contribute subject‑matter expertise to the design and testing of generative and agentic AI tools that support commissioning, research, updating and maintenance of legal content.

Required profile

• Proven experience in legal editorial or publishing environments, with a strong understanding of legal content creation and maintenance.
• Ability to build and manage relationships with external legal authors and reviewers.
• Commercial awareness to align content initiatives with business objectives and revenue goals.
• Strong project management skills to oversee commissioning lifecycles and meet deadlines.
• Familiarity with AI‑enabled tools for content research, drafting and updating.
