Legal Billing Specialist

About the role

Job Duck is seeking a detail‑oriented Legal Billing Specialist to support a boutique litigation firm. The role focuses on accurate client billing, collections, and trust‑account management while collaborating with attorneys, the Controller, and firm leadership.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with firm procedures, financial controls, and trust‑accounting requirements.
• Respond to client inquiries about invoices, payments, retainers, and trust balances.
• Monitor accounts receivable, initiate collection efforts, and process payments via LawPay.
• Generate monthly billing, collections, and AR reports; reconcile billed revenue with client costs and trust transfers.
• Prepare and review weekly pre‑bills, final invoices, and time entries in Clio Manage.
• Track retainer balances, coordinate replenishment requests, and maintain records in QuickBooks and NetDocuments.
• Identify opportunities to improve billing processes, reporting accuracy, and operational efficiency.
