Legal Advisor – Deal Structuring (Johannesburg)

About the role

The Legal Advisor will join the deal‑structuring team to provide sound legal support for a range of transactions, including franchise and contract finance deals. The role involves delivering statutory, reporting and advisory services that minimise risk while aligning with business requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Provide prompt legal advice to the Fund Management Division and the investment team.
• Conduct legal due‑diligence assessments on investment deals and identify risk mitigation measures.
• Draft, vet and negotiate commercial agreements such as loan agreements, share purchase agreements and security documents.
• Prepare legal input for Investment Committee submissions and ensure agreements align with term sheets and current legislation.

Required profile

• LLB degree and admission as an attorney with at least three years post‑article experience.
• Three to five years of corporate and commercial law experience, preferably in structured finance or investment banking.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work independently and within a team.
