About the role

The Legal Administrator provides essential operational and administrative support to the legal team, ensuring smooth execution of legal processes, document management and agreement workflows. The role leverages digital tools and AI‑enabled capabilities to improve turnaround times, reduce manual effort and enhance the experience for both internal stakeholders and clients.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive administrative support to the legal function, handling requests, documents and commitments efficiently.
  • Maintain the contract management system, ensuring agreements are accurately filed, securely stored and regularly updated.
  • Oversee the full signature lifecycle of legal agreements, tracking, circulating and filing documents in a timely manner.
  • Format legal documents, update templates and enforce consistency in style, branding and version control.
  • Utilise workflow tools, digital platforms and AI‑enabled features (e.g., automated formatting, version tracking, contract tagging) to minimise manual work.
  • Support the optimisation of legal processes, documentation repositories and internal filing systems.
  • Process expense claims and invoices, manage document collection/delivery and assist with operational tasks.
  • Handle administrative queries promptly, escalating issues when necessary and ensuring governance compliance.

Required profile

  • Matric or BA/degree (Recognition of Prior Learning may be considered).
  • Minimum 3 + years experience in legal administration or a similar legal environment (in‑house or law firm).
  • Proven experience with contract management systems and digital workflow tools is preferred.
  • Strong planning, organisational ability and high attention to detail.
  • Professionalism, accountability and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Required skills

  • Advanced Microsoft Office proficiency, especially SharePoint.
  • Experience with contract management systems.
  • Familiarity with digital workflow tools and AI‑enabled document automation.
