Lecturer: Retail Business Management

About the role

The Cape Peninsula University of Technology seeks a dedicated Lecturer in Retail Business Management to teach undergraduate and postgraduate students at its District Six campus. The role supports the department’s academic objectives through teaching, research, curriculum development and community engagement.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver lectures and tutorials to full‑time and part‑time students in Retail Business Management.
• Participate in departmental academic initiatives and research projects.
• Manage assessment processes and maintain academic records.
• Contribute to curriculum design, quality assurance and programme accreditation.
• Establish and maintain links with industry partners and relevant stakeholders.
• Supervise postgraduate research and theses.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Retail Business Management or Business Management.
• Underlying qualification in Business Management.
• Minimum two years of full‑time lecturing experience in a higher‑education setting.
• Knowledge of the South African higher‑education landscape (preferred).
• Broad understanding of retail business management and prior managerial experience in the industry (preferred).
