Learnerships for Unemployed Youth – Water, Management, Engineering

About the role

The Mopani District Municipality is offering a range of learnership programmes for unemployed youth aged 18‑40. Funded by LGSETA and RAMS, the interventions include community water services, public and financial management, environmental health, water and wastewater treatment, mechanical, electrical and civil engineering, and related fields. Each programme provides on‑the‑job training combined with classroom instruction leading to nationally recognised NQF qualifications.

Required profile

• Age 18‑40 and currently unemployed.
• No formal qualifications required.
• Must provide a cover letter indicating the chosen intervention.
• Must submit a CV, certified copy of ID (both sides) and certified qualifications.
• Willingness to complete the full duration of the programme.

What we offer

• Monthly stipends ranging from R2 500 to R6 500 depending on the programme.
• Programme durations of 12, 18 or 24 months, with a mix of work‑integrated learning and classroom study.
• Award of NQF‑registered qualifications (NQF Level 4‑7) such as BSc, National Diploma, Advanced Diploma and certificates.
• Hands‑on experience in sectors like water and sanitation, environmental health, finance, and engineering.
• Opportunity to gain practical skills while earning a stipend.
