Learnership - Farming with Crops and Animals (12 months)

About the role

AFGRI Farmer Development (AFD) is inviting suitably qualified candidates to apply for its 2026/27 Learnership Programme, which consists of 14 positions. Successful candidates will be placed at the Vasfontein Farm in Pretoria North for a 12-month programme in farming with crops and animals. The programme is open to everyone, though historically disadvantaged individuals are encouraged to apply.

Key responsibilities

• Complete on-the-job and off-the-job training in farming with crops and animals at the Vastfontein Training Farm.
• Fulfil farm duties aligned with the programme.
• Contribute to project work alongside a cross-functional team.

Required profile

• South African citizen.
• Grade 12 or equivalent qualification; matric level, no experience required.
• Unemployed.
• Preference given to women and people with disabilities.

Candidates enter a 12-month fixed-term contract with AFGRI Farmer Development.
