About the role
We are seeking a Lead Mechanical Design Engineer to head our mechanical design team in Durbanville, Cape Town. The role focuses on delivering high‑quality mechanical solutions while coordinating closely with customers and production.
Key responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a team of mechanical designers, providing technical guidance.
- Act as primary interface with customers to capture requirements and ensure alignment.
- Manage project timelines, resources and deliverables.
- Conduct design reviews, integrate components and oversee CAD modelling.
- Maintain product data and support production teams during manufacturing.
- Ensure design quality and compliance with industry standards.
Required profile
- BEng, BSc or BTech in Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering.
- Minimum 15 years of mechanical design experience.
- Proven experience leading design teams.
- South African citizenship.
Required skills
- Advanced 3D CAD modelling.
