Lawyer – Trust Management

About the role

Elite Recruitments is seeking a Trust Management Attorney to join a UK client trust team based in Umhlanga, KZN. The role involves handling a diverse portfolio of trust matters for UK law firm clients while delivering a high‑quality client experience.

Key responsibilities

• Generate fees by managing a varied caseload of trust matters.
• Prepare deeds of appointment, deeds of retirement, trustee minutes and related documentation.
• Advise beneficiaries, trustees and financial advisors on duties, powers and obligations under Scots trust law.
• Handle trust accounting and tax matters, including Trust and Estate Tax Returns and liaison with HMRC for reporting.
• Update property titles via TR1 applications in England and Notice of Titles in Scotland, referring complex cases to specialists.
• Leverage technology and AI to create a competitive advantage and stay at the forefront of innovation in the UK trusts space.
• Work UK business hours and observe UK bank holidays.

Required profile

• LLB degree and admission as an Attorney of the High Court of South Africa.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in trust management.
• Experience with case management systems.
• Valid driver’s licence and own transport.
• Tech‑savvy and comfortable using AI tools.
• Excellent communication skills, proactive and empathetic.
• Ability to work from home with a minimum 20 Mbps fibre connection.
