Key Individual (VS 09)

About the role

Our client, a regulated financial services provider, is seeking a highly experienced Key Individual to oversee activities related to derivative instruments, crypto assets and forex investment products. The role ensures strict regulatory governance, operational oversight and compliance with all applicable legislation and directives.

Key responsibilities

• Regulatory oversight and compliance management, including adherence to the FAIS Act, Fit‑and‑Proper standards and AML/CFT requirements.
• Product governance and risk oversight for derivatives, crypto assets, structured products and forex instruments.
• Supervision of financial advice and intermediary activities, reviewing suitability assessments and client onboarding processes.
• Operational oversight of relationships with liquidity providers, crypto exchanges, OTC providers and product issuers.
• Contribution to strategic growth and market‑expansion planning.

Required profile

• Prior FSCA approval as a Key Individual or at least two years demonstrable experience in derivatives, forex or crypto markets.
• Successful completion of RE1 and RE5 regulatory examinations.
• Qualifications listed on the FSCA recognised qualifications list for the relevant product categories.
• Valid Class of Business certificates.
• Strong knowledge of South African financial regulatory frameworks.
• Ability to work across different time zones when required.
