Key Account Sales Manager

About the role

E‑XHALE, a fast‑growing nicotine and vaping distributor in South Africa, is looking for a commercially driven Key Account Sales Manager to own and grow its most important retail relationships. You will be the primary contact for national chain buyers, responsible for listings, sell‑through, and ensuring product availability on the shelf.

Key responsibilities

• Manage day‑to‑day relationships with assigned national key accounts, including buyers, accounts payable, category managers and store operations teams.
• Serve as escalation point for queries, claims, disputes, short deliveries and credit note resolution.
• Conduct regular buyer visits and business review meetings, at least monthly for top‑tier accounts.
• Drive volume growth through improved ranging, secondary placement and promotional activity.
• Identify and convert new listing opportunities, negotiate trading terms and promotional support.
• Monitor sell‑through data, flag under‑performing SKUs and prepare business cases for new product listings.
• Oversee end‑to‑end drop‑shipment submission, invoice schedules, statements and proof‑of‑delivery documentation.
• Track overdue invoices, proactively contact accounts and coordinate with finance to resolve deductions.

Required profile

• Strong commercial mindset with proven experience in national account management.
• Excellent negotiation and relationship‑building abilities.
• Highly organised, data‑literate and comfortable analysing sales performance.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple accounts simultaneously.
