Key Account Manager – Strategic Retail Partnerships

About the role

We are seeking a Key Account Manager to lead strategic partnerships with major retail accounts, driving sustainable sales growth and market share expansion for our smartphone brand in South Africa.

Key responsibilities

• Lead strategic partnerships with key retail accounts to drive sales growth, market share expansion, and profitability.
• Develop and execute joint business plans, including ranging, product launches, promotional activities, and growth initiatives.
• Drive sell‑out performance through effective commercial management, retail execution, and cross‑functional collaboration.
• Manage account forecasting, inventory, and PSI to ensure optimal stock health and operational efficiency.
• Negotiate commercial agreements and investment plans to maximize business outcomes and ROI.
• Analyze market dynamics, customer performance, and competitive activities to identify opportunities and risks.
• Serve as the primary commercial owner of assigned accounts, aligning retailer objectives with company strategy.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Commerce or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in Key Account Management within major smartphone brands in South Africa.
• Proven track record of managing major retail accounts and delivering sustainable business growth.
• Strong commercial acumen with experience in business planning, negotiations and P&L management.
• Solid understanding of retail operations, forecasting, inventory management and sell‑out driven business models.
• Excellent analytical, communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Existing relationships with key South African retailers are an advantage.
