Junior Technician – Electronic Systems (Mining)

About the role

The Junior Technician will provide comprehensive technical services to ensure the safe and efficient operation of electronic technology used in health, safety and productivity within the mining sector. This onsite role supports multiple mines, focusing on installation, maintenance and support of electronic equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Install, repair, certify and provide technical support for electronic products and systems to the highest safety standards.
• Set up and test units to meet specified requirements and perform quality checks in line with company policy.
• Troubleshoot issues, determine root causes and recommend corrective actions or escalate as needed.
• Maintain electronic equipment and software, ensuring compliance with client scope of work.
• Report and record maintenance requirements and assist with new projects.
• Operate hand and power tools safely, maintain housekeeping standards, and complete required documentation.
• Liaise with other technical staff and on‑site customers to ensure quality, safety and contractual compliance.

Required profile

• National Certificate (N4) in Electronic/Electrical.
• 2‑4 years experience in electronics (hardware and software) and IT (hardware, networks, software).
• Good computer skills, particularly Microsoft Office.
• Valid driver’s licence and own vehicle.
• Strong communication, detail‑orientation, self‑discipline and a willingness to learn.
• Ability to think logically and creatively, adapt to change and develop customer relationships.
