Junior Solar Design Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Junior Solar Design Engineer to join our renewable‑energy team in Johannesburg. The role offers hands‑on experience designing photovoltaic (PV) systems for residential, commercial and utility‑scale projects while working closely with senior engineers.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in the design and layout of solar PV systems using industry‑standard software.
• Prepare technical drawings, schematics and documentation for project proposals.
• Conduct site assessments and feasibility studies under supervision.
• Support the preparation of bills of materials, cost estimates and technical reports.
• Collaborate with project managers, contractors and clients to ensure smooth project execution.
• Stay updated with industry standards, regulations and emerging technologies.

Required profile

• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy or a related discipline.
• 1‑2 years of internship or entry‑level experience in solar PV design.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Passion for renewable energy and sustainability.
