Junior Retail Planner – Cape Town (2 positions)

About the role

Are you a sports and data lover with a passion for planning and analysis? Our client, a Clothing Retailer, is looking for two Junior Retail Planners to join their team in Cape Town. Reporting to the Divisional Head, you will work with leading South African sporting, outdoor and athleisure brands, taking ownership of product demand, margins and range planning.

Key responsibilities

• Drive the planning and management processes for relevant brand and product ranges.
• Provide strategic input on product ranges.
• Supply analytical data to support seasonal product and range development.
• Assist with risk assessment and mitigation measures.
• Monitor and forecast sales trends, inventory levels and customer preferences.
• Develop and implement merchandising strategies and plans across product categories and channels.
• Prepare and present reports and recommendations to senior management and stakeholders.

Required profile

• A degree in Commerce or Business Science, preferably with a major in Statistics, Economics or Logistics.
• 1–2 years of experience in merchandise planning, buying or allocation, ideally in sports or clothing retail.
• Proficiency in Excel and other data‑analysis tools.
• Experience with ERP planning software is advantageous.
• Strong communication, presentation and problem‑solving abilities.
