Junior Research Fellow – 6‑Month Fixed‑Term (Cape Town)

About the role

KTF is seeking a Junior Research Fellow (JRF) to support the Director and research team through research activities, data management, analysis and presentation of findings. The role focuses on research management, capacity development and policy‑relevant health‑systems evaluation in low‑ and middle‑income settings.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct research activities and contribute to manuscripts, conference presentations, posters and reports.
• Coordinate research meetings, agendas, documentation and follow‑up.
• Support strategic planning and coordination of collaborative research projects.
• Conduct evidence synthesis and translate findings into policy‑relevant outputs.
• Organise webinars, workshops and stakeholder engagements for knowledge dissemination.
• Support qualitative and quantitative data collection, collation and analysis, and present findings at workshops and conferences.

Required profile

• Master’s degree or PhD in public health, social science or related field with 1‑2 years of research experience.
• Experience working in clinical research and a current accredited Good Clinical Practice (GCP) certificate.
• Proven ability to work within multidisciplinary teams, take ownership of projects and meet tight deadlines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and high emotional intelligence.
• Practical, organised, proactive and comfortable working independently across teams and countries.
