Junior Renewables Project Developer

About the role

A well‑established Independent Power Producer is looking for a Junior Renewable Energy Project Developer to support the creation of utility‑scale solar PV, wind and battery storage projects across Africa. The role is full‑time and remote, covering the whole development cycle from site identification to financial close.

Key responsibilities

• Support site identification and early‑stage project evaluation.
• Assist with feasibility studies and development assessments.
• Support land access, permitting and regulatory processes.
• Coordinate technical, environmental and commercial activities and documentation.
• Review technical, environmental and permitting documentation.
• Liaise with consultants, authorities and external stakeholders.
• Support project planning and scheduling.
• Track development progress, milestones and maintain project documentation.
• Prepare budgeting and reporting.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Renewable Energy, Commerce or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years experience on large‑scale renewable energy projects in Africa (PV, wind and/or BESS).
• Experience in renewable energy project coordination, planning and development processes.
• Strong organisational, analytical and communication skills.
• Experience in Sub‑Saharan Africa is an advantage, especially outside South Africa.
