Junior Relationship Manager (Credit Analyst)

About the role

The Junior Relationship Manager (Credit Analyst) will support the bank's client portfolio in Cape Town by providing credit analysis, administrative assistance and compliance oversight. This entry‑level position combines relationship management with rigorous financial assessment to help grow the business while adhering to regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

• Support Relationship Managers in expanding and maintaining client portfolios.
• Build and sustain professional relationships, responding promptly to client inquiries.
• Assist clients with banking products, services and general requests.
• Coordinate onboarding of new clients, ensuring completion of KYC/FICA/AML documentation.
• Schedule client meetings, follow‑ups and manage related correspondence.
• Analyse financial statements, cash flows and management accounts to assess creditworthiness.
• Prepare credit applications, annual reviews, credit ratings and memorandums.
• Liaise with credit, legal, compliance and operations teams throughout the approval process.
• Maintain accurate credit files, approval records and supporting documentation.
• Conduct risk assessments and monitor facility utilisation and account performance.
• Ensure compliance with banking policies, internal procedures and regulatory requirements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration or a related field.
• Strong analytical and numerical abilities with attention to detail.
• Understanding of banking regulations, KYC/FICA/AML requirements and risk management principles.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment.
