Junior Quantity Surveyor

About the role

The company is a leading provider of roofing, asbestos, waterproofing, structural repairs and painting services in the Northern Suburbs of Cape Town. They are seeking a Junior Quantity Surveyor to support estimating, tendering and contract management activities.

Key responsibilities

• Measure plans and buildings accurately to develop pricing.
• Prepare rates and submit quotes/tenders in a timely manner.
• Facilitate and expedite production processes.
• Troubleshoot issues and propose cost‑effective solutions.
• Support contracts managers with resource planning and organization.
• Build and maintain positive relationships with internal and external clients.
• Promote company services and assist in project management of contracts.

Required profile

• National Diploma or Degree in Quantity Surveying or Construction Management (advantageous).
• Alternatively, at least 5 years of construction industry experience, including 2 years on painting, waterproofing or roofing projects.
• Recent experience as a QS/Estimator or Project Manager.
• Fluent in English and understanding of Afrikaans.
• Valid driver’s licence.

Required skills

• Proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel and MS Outlook.
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials and processes.
• Ability to measure building plans accurately.
• Experience with construction estimating and quantity surveying.
