Junior Quantity Surveyor - Electrical Construction & Reticulation (Start Jan 2027)

About the role

Provide cost management and contractual support on electrical construction and reticulation projects (LV/MV/HV reticulation, substations, cabling, street lighting, etc.) under the guidance of a senior quantity surveyor, ensuring projects are delivered within budget and meet contractual requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in preparing Bills of Quantities (BOQs) for electrical construction and reticulation works.
• Measure electrical works from drawings and specifications, including cabling, trenching, substations, transformers, poles and fittings.
• Support pricing and cost estimating for tenders and projects.
• Prepare and process interim payment certificates and valuations.
• Track and manage variation orders and site instructions.
• Compile and reconcile material and subcontractor accounts.
• Support procurement by obtaining and comparing supplier/subcontractor quotes.
• Maintain accurate project cost records and generate cost reports.
• Assist with final account preparation and close‑out documentation.
• Conduct site visits to verify progress and quantities installed.

Required profile

• National Diploma or Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or related field.
• 0–2 years’ experience in quantity surveying (graduate/candidate QS level acceptable).
• Electrical engineering or electrical construction background is advantageous.
• Exposure to electrical construction, reticulation or infrastructure projects is a plus.

Required skills

• Basic understanding of electrical construction methods and reticulation systems.
• Proficiency in MS Excel.
• Familiarity with quantity surveying software such as CCS Candy or Buildsmart.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and specifications.
