Junior Interior Designer

About the role

Our client, an internationally recognised interior architecture studio in Cape Town, is looking for a Junior Interior Designer to support luxury residential, hospitality and commercial projects. This role offers the chance to develop design concepts from inception to delivery while working alongside senior designers in a collaborative environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in developing design schemes, sketches, drawings and mood boards.
• Create technical plans, elevations, sections and details using Vectorworks.
• Prepare project costing schedules, budgets and coordinate FF&E procurement and installation.
• Source and procure bespoke joinery, furniture, fixtures and finishes.
• Review technical drawings, develop detailed specifications and liaise with contractors and suppliers.
• Manage project programmes, budgets and deadlines across multiple projects.
• Lead mid‑sized projects with guidance from senior designers.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years post‑graduate experience in luxury residential or commercial interior design.
• Degree or equivalent in Interior Design, Furniture Design or Architecture.
• Strong technical ability, material knowledge and an eye for detail and colour.
• Excellent communication skills in spoken and written English.
• Basic understanding of project costs and budgets.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Vectorworks.
• Experience with Adobe Creative Suite.
• Competence in Microsoft Office Suite.
