Junior Industrial Designer (In-Office)

About the role

We are seeking a creative Junior Industrial Designer to join our Advanced Technology & Product Manufacturing team in Johannesburg. You will translate concepts into ergonomic, user‑friendly products that are ready for large‑scale production. This is an in‑office, full‑time position where you will work closely with engineering and production teams.

Key responsibilities

• Develop initial sketches and illustrations for new products or improve existing designs.
• Create detailed 3D CAD models and engineering drawings with precise tolerances.
• Build and test physical prototypes using modern materials and fabrication methods.
• Iterate designs based on user requirements specifications and engineering feedback.
• Research materials and manufacturing processes to ensure compliance with DFMA best practices.
• Collaborate with engineering, production, and supply‑chain teams to deliver cost‑effective, robust solutions.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Arts or B‑Tech in Industrial Design.
• 2–3 years of professional experience in an industrial design environment.
• Strong visual and spatial awareness with an organized, systematic approach to design challenges.
• Excellent communication skills and meticulous attention to detail.
