Junior HVAC Technician – Cape Town

About the role

Embassy Air Conditioning is a trusted leader in HVAC services, delivering installation, maintenance and repair solutions for residential, commercial and industrial clients. We are looking for a motivated Junior HVAC Technician to support our senior team and help ensure reliable, energy‑efficient systems for our customers.

Key responsibilities

• Assist senior technicians with HVAC installations, servicing, maintenance and repairs.
• Support servicing and maintenance of commercial HVAC systems and plantrooms.
• Work on chillers, pumps, air handling units (AHUs), fan coil units (FCUs), cooling towers and ventilation systems.
• Inspect and maintain plantroom equipment and associated components.
• Check belts, filters, coils, fans, pumps, valves and motors.
• Perform basic HVAC fault‑finding and system diagnostics.
• Handle copper piping, drainage, insulation, ducting and equipment installation.
• Carry out basic electrical and control‑system checks related to HVAC equipment.
• Conduct cleaning and general preventative maintenance.
• Complete job cards and record work and materials used.
• Identify faults and report equipment requiring repair or replacement.
• Follow health and safety procedures and wear required PPE.
• Maintain a clean, organised and safe plantroom and work area.
• Work under the direction of senior technicians within your level of training and competence.

Required profile

• Grade 12 / Matric preferred.
• HVAC qualification or relevant technical training preferred.
• Previous HVAC experience or practical exposure advantageous.
• Basic understanding of HVAC and refrigeration systems.
• Basic mechanical and electrical knowledge.
• Knowledge or exposure to commercial HVAC systems and plantrooms advantageous.
• Valid driver’s licence preferred.
• Physically fit and able to work at heights and in plantroom environments.
• Reliable, punctual and willing to learn.
• Able to work independently when required and as part of a team.
