Junior Graphic Designer – Print Artwork Assistant

About the role

Our client in Blackheath is seeking a Junior Graphic Designer / Print Artwork Assistant to support the printing department. This newly created position is ideal for a detail‑oriented individual who enjoys working with artwork and wants to develop expertise in print preparation and production.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and draw up artwork for print production.
• Nest artwork to maximise material usage and minimise waste.
• Set up cut files for production and verify accuracy before printing or cutting.
• Assist with print layouts and production preparation.
• Work closely with the printing and production team.
• Operate flatbed printers when required, after training.
• Ensure artwork files are correctly prepared, saved and organised.

Required profile

• Good working knowledge and experience using CorelDRAW.
• Basic understanding of print‑ready artwork and production files.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions under deadlines.
• Computer literate and comfortable with design software.
• Willingness to learn print machinery and production processes.
• Reliable, practical and eager to grow within a printing/production environment.
