Junior Foreclosure Litigation Attorney (Admitted)

About the role

A well‑established legal practice in Cape Town is seeking a Junior Foreclosure Litigation Attorney with 3–5 years of post‑qualification experience. The role involves handling high‑volume banking litigation and home‑loan foreclosure matters in the High Court, ensuring accuracy, quality and timely delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a high‑volume litigation caseload from inception to finalisation.
• Handle defended and opposed litigation in the High Court, including drafting pleadings, notices, affidavits and other legal documents.
• Conduct legal research, interpret the National Credit Act and provide sound advice.
• Prepare matters for hearings, applications, trials and other court proceedings.
• Attend court appearances and liaise with clients, counsel, court officials and other stakeholders.
• Monitor deadlines, court dates and procedural requirements, maintaining up‑to‑date matter files.
• Identify and mitigate potential risks, delays and procedural issues.

Required profile

• LLB or equivalent recognised legal qualification.
• Admission as an Attorney in South Africa with the right of appearance in the High Court.
• 3–5 years post‑qualification experience in banking litigation and home‑loan foreclosures.
• Strong working knowledge of the National Credit Act.
• Demonstrated ability to manage high volumes of work in a fast‑paced environment.
