Junior Finance Clerk – Creditors (FMCG) – R10k/month

About the role

We are a well‑established FMCG company looking for a Junior Finance Clerk to support our creditors function. Based in Springfield, Durban, you will help ensure supplier invoices are processed accurately and payments are made on time.

Key responsibilities

• Capture and process a high volume of supplier invoices.
• Perform monthly creditor reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
• Prepare weekly and monthly payment runs in line with company policies.
• Ensure invoices are authorised, allocated and supplier records are up‑to‑date.
• Handle supplier queries, claims, rebates and VAT reconciliation.
• Liaise with primary and shield suppliers to maintain continuity of supply.
• Assist with month‑end closing activities, including accruals.
• Perform general finance administration and filing.

Required profile

• Matric (Grade 12) – essential.
• 1–3 years of experience in creditors/accounts payable.
• Experience in a high‑volume FMCG environment.
• Exposure to VAT, supplier claims and rebates.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to meet strict deadlines.

Required skills

• Working knowledge of accounting systems such as Pastel, Sage or Syspro.
• Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills (VLOOKUPs, basic formulas).
