Junior Feedlot Manager

About the role

The Junior Feedlot Manager is responsible for day‑to‑day management of the feedlot, focusing on animal health, nutrition and operational efficiency, with additional involvement in the breeding herd. The role is ideal for someone passionate about cattle and eager to learn and grow with the business.

Key responsibilities

• Manage daily feedlot activities and supervise staff.
• Monitor animal health, identify sick cattle early and coordinate treatments.
• Implement feeding programmes and rations in collaboration with veterinarians and nutrition consultants.
• Maintain accurate records of weights, treatments, feed intake and other feedlot data.
• Support breeding herd management when required and ensure compliance with biosecurity protocols.

Required profile

• Basic knowledge or strong interest in cattle production and feedlot management.
• Ability to recognise disease symptoms in cattle.
• Good administrative and record‑keeping skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to lead staff.
• Problem‑solving ability, attention to detail and willingness to learn.
• Physically fit and able to work in a farm environment.
