Junior Distribution (Transport) Controller – Durban

About the role

We are seeking an energetic and organised Junior Distribution (Transport) Controller to join our Durban transport team. You will be hands‑on in coordinating local distribution loads from planning and collection through to final delivery, working closely with customers, hauliers, suppliers and internal teams.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate inbound and outbound transport movements.
• Monitor loads from booking to final delivery and keep customers updated.
• Liaise with customers, suppliers, hauliers and internal operational teams.
• Ensure transport bookings contain correct collection, delivery and load information.
• Prepare and verify all required documentation, including hazardous cargo paperwork where applicable.
• Track loads, provide status reports and follow up on proof‑of‑delivery documents.
• Report service failures, incidents or claims promptly.
• Maintain operational files, capture relevant costs and assist with supplier invoicing.
• Keep the CarLo system live, accurate and up‑to‑date.

Required skills

• Experience with a Transport Management System (TMS).
