About the role
A leading financial analytics firm is looking for a sharp, detail‑oriented Junior Data Scientist to join its dynamic team in Johannesburg. You will work on real‑world financial challenges such as fraud detection, client churn, and portfolio optimisation.
Key responsibilities
- Collect, clean, and transform financial data.
- Assist in building and refining machine‑learning models.
- Support anomaly detection and automation tools.
- Create impactful dashboards and reports using Power BI.
- Collaborate with engineers, analysts, and business teams.
- Identify opportunities to improve data workflows and insights.
Required profile
- Degree in Data Science, Statistics, Finance, Computer Science or a related field.
- 0‑2 years of relevant experience (interns welcome).
- Strong analytical thinking and communication skills.

- Python (pandas, matplotlib, scikit‑learn).
