Junior Credit Analyst – Melrose Arch

About the role

Our client is a fast‑growing South African FinTech that uses AI and technology to provide flexible funding to SMEs. They are looking for a driven Junior Credit Analyst to join their high‑performing Credit Team in Melrose Arch, Cape Town. This role offers hands‑on exposure to credit decisions, data analysis and commercial insight.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse complex financial and credit data to support informed credit decisions.
• Assess customer financial statements, including income statements and balance sheets.
• Identify trends, anomalies and potential fraud risks.
• Support the Credit Team in evaluating applications and making sound decisions.
• Work with large datasets ensuring high accuracy in analysis.
• Use analytical and CRM systems to process and interpret customer information.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to improve credit and account‑management processes.

Required profile

• 1–2 years’ experience in credit analysis, financial analysis, auditing or a similar analytical role.
• Tertiary qualification in Finance, Accounting, Economics or a related commercial field.
• Strong commercial awareness and interest in how businesses operate.
• Proactive mindset with confidence to question numbers and investigate inconsistencies.
• Passion for supporting the growth of South African SMEs.

Required skills

• Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, INDEX‑MATCH, Pivot Tables, IF statements, What‑If analysis).
• Experience using CRM systems for data processing.
