Junior Claims Consultant

About the role

We are seeking a Junior Claims Consultant to join our established insurance company in Roodepoort, Gauteng. This permanent position is ideal for professionals with 1‑2 years of experience in short‑term insurance claims who are ready to develop their expertise in gap cover claims.

Key responsibilities

• Register, assess and process gap cover claims in line with policy terms.
• Verify documentation, policy details and insurer responses.
• Communicate claim progress to clients, brokers and service providers.
• Maintain accurate records and ensure timely claims administration.
• Identify claim shortfalls, exclusions and required supporting documents.
• Maintain turnaround times while delivering high‑quality customer service.
• Escalate complex claims or irregularities to senior consultants or management.
• Assist with general administration and claims reporting as needed.

Required profile

• 1‑2 years of experience in short‑term insurance claims.
• Certificates: RE5, FETC In Short Term Insurance NQF 4, Matric.
• Strong administrative and communication abilities.
• Computer literate with proficiency in MS Office; experience with claims systems is advantageous.
• Ability to work accurately under pressure and manage multiple cases.
