About the role
The Junior Buyer supports the procurement team by planning, sourcing and purchasing goods needed by the business. This role ensures that items are obtained in the right quantities, at the right time, place and price, contributing to the department’s productivity and profitability. The position reports to the Senior Buyer and works closely with the supply chain and finance teams.
Key responsibilities
- Plan and forecast demand for assigned product categories.
- Identify and evaluate potential suppliers.
- Negotiate prices and terms to achieve cost‑effective purchases.
- Issue purchase orders and monitor order status.
- Maintain accurate records of transactions and inventory levels.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to align purchasing with operational needs.
- Provide support to senior buyers as required.
Required profile
- Entry‑level or recent graduate with interest in procurement.
- Strong analytical and numerical abilities.
- Good communication and relationship‑building skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to work under deadlines.
