Junior Buyer

About the role

We are seeking a Junior Buyer to support our Senior Buyer in sourcing and acquiring a wide range of goods and services for Pepkor Lifestyle. The role offers an opportunity to develop procurement skills within a fast‑moving retail environment, working closely with suppliers, merchandising and marketing teams.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain product data and inventory by listing new items, delisting obsolete ones, and managing pricing and stock conditions using SAP and Akeneo.
• Generate and analyse sales and stock reports to support purchasing decisions.
• Assist in supplier negotiations, returns management, and portfolio financial tracking.
• Contribute to monthly turnover and profit budget preparation.
• Identify new products and potential suppliers to enhance competitiveness.
• Conduct market and competitor analysis, prepare advertising briefs and monitor price alignment with the market.
• Visit stores to gather feedback and support a customer‑centric culture.

Required profile

• Matriculation certificate; a diploma or degree in Buying, Procurement, Business or a related field is an advantage.
• Strong attention to detail and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively, meet deadlines and maintain a professional image.
• Motivated “can‑do” attitude with drive and energy.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Experience using SAP.
• Familiarity with Akeneo product information management system.
