Junior Audit Manager – Insurance

About the role

BDO South Africa is seeking a Junior Audit Manager to support the Financial Services Division with insurance‑focused audit and advisory engagements. Based in Johannesburg, you will work closely with partners to grow key accounts and deliver high‑quality audit services.

Key responsibilities

• Lead insurance audit and advisory projects, overseeing planning, execution and delivery.
• Manage audit teams, ensuring quality and timely completion of engagements.
• Develop and maintain client relationships, presenting findings to senior stakeholders.
• Participate in day‑to‑day operations of the Financial Services unit, including budgeting, WIP monitoring and staff recruitment.
• Mentor audit trainees and junior managers under the SAICA assessor program.
• Contribute to risk management, client onboarding and the development of the division’s insurance strategy.

Required profile

• B.Com Honours and CA (SA) qualification.
• 2‑3 years post‑qualification experience, preferably in insurance external audit or related industry work.
• Strong analytical ability to address complex accounting, audit and risk matters in the insurance sector.
• Excellent communication skills for presenting to C‑level executives and audit committees.
